Editama Mufti Islahuddin
Health services manager at Puskesmas Tersono, Batang. Previously a medical record coder at Hermina Hospital Group, Pekalongan.
I work with medical records and health service data, from ICD-10 coding for insurance claims to moving paper archives into an Electronic Medical Record system. I now manage primary care operations while tidying up the information systems and data reporting behind them.
From coding medical records to running a service
I started in medical records. At Hermina Hospital Group in Pekalongan, I spent three years coding and categorising medical record data to ICD-10, keeping patient documentation complete, and protecting the confidentiality of that data. The part I worked on most was the migration of paper archives into an Electronic Medical Record system, including validating the data and walking staff through the training.
Since June 2025 I have been based at Puskesmas Tersono in Batang as a health services manager. The work has shifted: from looking after one kind of data to coordinating medical and non-medical teams, organising medical administration and documentation, and keeping daily services running to the operating standard.
Outside the day job I follow developments in health information systems and automation. I rework health data reporting so it is easier to use for decisions, and I am learning to apply AI and automation to the repetitive parts of the administrative work.

Real work I have handled, not concepts.
Migrating medical record archives to EMR

Moving physical medical record archives into an Electronic Medical Record system. I handled validation of the migrated data, making sure no files were left behind or mis-indexed, and supported staff through the training period around the switch.
Reworking service data reporting
Puskesmas Tersono · 2025–present
Reorganising how the centre's daily service data is presented so that visit numbers and monthly trends are easier to read for evaluation and decision-making.
Automating documentation and reports
Self-directed · ongoing
Designing an automation flow for the repetitive parts of medical record documentation and reporting, to cut processing time and reduce manual input errors.
